Teaching and research are priority areas for the institution. The policy of the college and management has been to encourage research by the faculty and to motivate students to pursue research later in their career. The following are the salient aspects of facilities etc provided by the institution.

 

Research Cell

 

Research Cell of the College has been constituted with the following objectives:

  • ¤To co-ordinate all research related activities involving the teaching faculty of the college.
  • ¤To encourage research through short-term training programmes with invited experts in different disciplines.
  • ¤To facilitate research leading to Ph.D by the faculty by helping them to apply and obtain leave facility whenever required.
  • ¤To receive suggestions from teaching faculty and relevant experts to enhance the availability and research resources at the library.
  • ¤To circulate necessary information for applying for research fellowships, participation in seminars and conferences.
  • ¤To oversee publications of research papers presented at national and international seminars, conferences organised by the college in the form of proceedings.
  • ¤To organise discussions and presentations by faculty regarding their research work in progress.

  • KAPMC as recognised Centre of Research in Psychology of Kevempu University.

 

KAPMC is affiliated to Kuvempu University, a leading multi-disciplinary state university. As per provisions made by Kuvempu University through approved regulations KAPMC applied for recognition as Research Centre of Kuvempu University in the discipline of Psychology as it is also offering the M.Sc Psychology programme of Kuvempu University since 2019. Subsequent to the visit of the expert team constituted by the university and its recommendation, the university syndicate approved the recognition of the college as Research Centre of Kuvempu University and necessary orders were issued on 02-01-2025. At present the applications of the eligible faculty of the department of psychology for approval as Research Guides for the Ph.D programme are being processed. It is expected that the Ph.D in Psychology programme shall be initiated with the forth coming session of Ph.D entrance examination of Kuvempu University. Three faculty members have the prescribed eligibility qualifications.

 

  • Recruitment of Faculty with Ph.D/ Research Experience.

 

In order to create a conducive environment for research, efforts, have been made to recruit teaching faculty with Ph.D degrees. At present the following are the teaching faculty with Ph.D degree.

  2. Sukeerthi, Assistant Professor of Sociology. Ph.D in Sociology awarded by Kuvempu University in 2019.
  3. Ganesh Prasad, Associate Professor of English. Ph.D in English awarded by Dravidian University, Kuppam in 2025
  4. Meghana, Assistant Professor of Psychology. Ph.D awarded by Sharada University, Delhi in 2025.
  5. Tejeshwara, Ph.D in Psychology awarded by Mysore University in
  6. Shwetha K T, Ph.D in Psychology awarded by Mysore University in 2020.
  7. Madhu T, Ph.D in Kannada awarded by Kuvempu University in 2025.
