The Department of History is one of the foundational departments of the college, dedicated to fostering an understanding of the past and its relevance to the present. The department aims to promote historical awareness, critical inquiry, and a spirit of research among students.
The curriculum provides a comprehensive study of Indian, Karnataka, and World History, covering political, social, economic, cultural, and intellectual developments across different periods. Students are encouraged to explore historical processes, analyse sources, and appreciate the diversity and continuity of human civilization.
Through seminars, study tours, heritage visits, museum studies, and project work, the department provides experiential learning opportunities that help students connect classroom knowledge with real-world experiences. Graduates of the Department of History pursue careers in education, archaeology, civil services, heritage management, research, museums, archives, and tourism.
Is a cultural club, it is formulated mainly to organise activities to promote and celebrate the arts, traditions and cultural of society. This club provides a platform for the students to express their creativity and they learn about the different cultures and students participate in the various events and performances.
Participating in the club activities can help students to develop various skills including creativity communication leadership and teamwork. The club also organises various cultural events in the campus and holds various competitions for the students.
