ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಹೃದಯ ವೇದಿಕೆಯು ಕಟೀಲ್ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಪೈ ಸ್ಮಾರಕ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆಯು ದಿನಾಂಕ-29-06-2017ರಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿತು, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ. ಸಂಧ್ಯಾಕಾವೇರಿಮೇಡಂ ರವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತರಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವಿಜಯ ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ರವರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಭಿರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿ, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಸಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಭಾಕಂಪನವನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸರ್ವತೋಮುಖ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅಂದಿನ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ಬಹಳ ಆಸಕ್ತಿವಹಿಸಿ ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು, ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳು ಮೂರನೇ ಮಂಗಳವಾರದಂದು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತವೆ, ಇದು ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಬಹಳ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಎಂಬ ಬಿರುದನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು  ಸತತ 8 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ  ತನ್ನದೇ ಪಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಇದರ ನೇತೃತ್ವವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮೋಹನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾದ್ಯಪಕರುಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ, ಕವಿತ ಸುಧೀಂದ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಡಾ. ಮಧು. ಟಿ ಇವರ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Department of English

The Literary club of the English department aims to foster a love for literature, language and creative expression among students. It provides a platform for students to enhance their literary skills, critical thinking and communication abilities through various activities and events.

The club encourages students to explore different genres of literature, analyze literary works and engaging in discussion about books and authors, where we invite special speakers, eminent writers, critics, scholars, and experts from different colleges and universities to share their insights and experiences with students.

The club helps to enhance language skills through activities like seminars, special lectures, group discussions, workshops and creative writing. The club helps students to improve their LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) skills and the club provides opportunities for students to express their creativity through writing poetry and other artistic endeavors.

The club often collaborates with other organizations and communities to reach a wider audience and promote literary activities within college and community.

Overall the literary club of English department plays a vital role in enriching the academic and cultural life of students and developing essential skills for their personal and professional growth.

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK

Jnana sudhe is a forum of social work students, which started with the objective to facilitate knowledge exchange and build a supportive community for collaboration and advocacy.

The forum mainly focuses on organizing programs which will help students to build the professional skills such as (communication, leadership, critical thinking, decision making, problem solving) which  are very vital in the present context, and create a safe space   to explore opportunities for social justice and community engagements like organising health related camps, conducting surveys in the rural areas, organising rural camps, observation of world mental health day, Suicide prevention day, human rights day and so on.

This will help to develop empathetic understanding about the issues. Students will get practical exposure to work in the diverse fields of social work. It will enable them to identify their interest area and choose the fields accordingly in the higher education.

The Psychology Club for UG & PG Minds, “Manosamathva” – derived from the Sanskrit words ‘Manas’ (mind) and ‘Samathva’ (equilibrium or balance) – stands as a beacon for psychological growth, academic excellence, and emotional well-being. Department of commerce inaugurated management forum on 6/3/25 by Mr. Manjunath Jois , Retired Principal ,H S Rudrappa National PU Collge, Shivamogga.

STUDENT’S FILM CLUB

Students film club of English department Provides students with opportunities to explore the World of Cinema, analyze films and potentially create their own. This can involve watching and discussing movies, learning about film theory and history.

The club can support and enhance the learning experience for students taking film studies or related courses. It can also provide a space for students to express their creativity and develop their storytelling abilities; we invite film critics, professors to share their expertise.

The film club happens once in every second week of the month, where we watch a movie and later discuss our views & opinions. Film club organizes regular Screening of artistic cinema, documentaries and short films. This forum provides the students an opportunity to discuss & review films. Moreover, it is a fantastic, launch-pad for the student aspirants in the field, exposing them to liberal arts of Critical thinking.

Cultural Club

Is a cultural club, it is formulated mainly to organise activities to promote and celebrate the arts, traditions and cultural of society. This club provides a platform for the students to express their creativity and they learn about the different cultures and students participate in the various events and performances.

Participating in the club activities cab help students to develop various skills including creativity communication leadership and teamwork. The club also organises various cultural events in the campus and holds various competitions for the students. Is a talent hunt forum, this forum mainly designed to identify and showcase the unique skills and abilities of the individual. The primary goal of this forum is to unearth hidden talents and potentials of students. This forum provides a stage for individuals to demonstrate their skills and abilities.

The activities offered through this forum will help individuals to showcase their existing talents and learn new skills. This form organizes competitions for the external students by hosting various cultural competitions.

PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLNESS CENTRE

APTHA Psychological Wellness Centre is a dynamic initiative of the Department of Psychology, Kateel Ashok Pai Memorial College, aimed at promoting psychological well-being and fostering mental health support among students, adolescents, and the broader community. Established with the vision of nurturing psychological resilience, emotional awareness, and empathetic engagement, the centre provides a platform for psychology students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings, thereby enhancing their academic and professional journey.

The centre offers students opportunities to develop essential competencies such as active listening, empathy, interpersonal communication, ethical decision-making, psychological assessment, and counseling skills. These are cultivated through structured workshops, awareness programs, outreach activities, and student-led initiatives. APTHA encourages active participation in mental health advocacy, helping students become responsible and compassionate mental health professionals. Events like mental health awareness weeks, stress management workshops, peer support sessions, and observation of significant mental health days such as World Mental Health Day, Suicide Prevention Day, Self-Harm Awareness Day, and Autism Awareness Day are regularly organized to build awareness and reduce stigma associated with mental health issues.

A key focus of the centre is to provide personal and confidential counseling services to students dealing with academic stress, emotional difficulties, interpersonal issues, anxiety, and self-esteem concerns. Counseling is also extended to adolescents through age-appropriate techniques and empathetic approaches. In addition to on-campus support, the centre adopts a strong community-based approach, offering psychological counseling and support services to the wider public. Is a platform in college mainly focused on theatrical activities including performance, workshops and discussions. This club provides a creative outlet for the students to foster their theatrical skills and sometimes explore social and community issues through their performance.

This theater forum is one of the vibrant hub for the theatrical activity, if offers students a chance to learn, create and engage with the world around them through the art of theatre. This forum also has collaborations with other organisations working for theatre. Students also get the opportunity to have interactions with the artists.
